If there’s one thing I love more than shopping, it’s finding a good deal! Especially when you’ve had your eye on an item for a while, that’s either out of your price range, or you simply can’t justify spending the extra money on. This is when I get in my detective mode and search for a dupe! If you’re not familiar with the phrase, let me explain.
A dupe is when you find an item that looks either identical or so close to, the original that item that you wouldn’t even know the difference between it and the original, higher priced item. I’m not big on name brands, at least not the high-fashion ones. I’m more of a what you’d call bargain hunter, not all of the time but usually. I know, I know, you get what you pay for but many times, you’re just paying extra for the name on the label.
I’m not a fan of paying extra when I know I could pay less. I’m a frequent user of coupons and the RetailMeNot app, if you’re not familiar with the app, I highly recommend you download it now. Don’t get me wrong, I have a few items that have the high-end name brands, but over all, I’m more of an Amazon, Old Navy, American Eagle, and Target type of shopper, with the occupational trip to Express.
Which brings me to my favorite deal… the dupe! It’s a great way to get the same looking item that you REALLY want without paying the extra money on a clothing tag. And yes, sometimes that means you get a lower quality product but sometimes you have to give a little to get a lot, which is totally worth it, at least to me… most of the time!
